Votrex 50 mg (20 tablets) is a prescription anti-inflammatory medication containing diclofenac, used to treat body pain and joint swelling, Primary Uses This medication blocks the enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2) that produce inflammatory chemicals in the body, providing relief for: • Joint and Bone Conditions: Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. • Acute Pain: Gout attacks, lower back pain, dislocations, fractures, and severe muscle strains. • Injury and Post-Surgery: Relief from tissue tearing, stretching, dental surgery, or orthopedic procedures. • Other Inflammatory Pain: Primary dysmenorrhea (painful period cramps) and severe ENT inflammation (such as tonsillitis or ear aches). Dosage and Administration • Standard Dose: Adults are generally prescribed 75 mg to 150 mg daily, split into two or three smaller doses throughout the day. • Maximum Limit: Never exceed a total of 150 mg per day. • How to Take: Swallow the tablets whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or split them. Depending on the specific formulation (sodium vs. Potassium), your doctor may recommend taking it before meals for faster absorption, or with food to safeguard your stomach lining against irritation. • Duration: Always use the lowest effective dose for the absolute shortest timeframe needed to control your symptoms.
